The Federation of  New South Wales (Sydney and Canberra)

have been involved in promoting the rich Arcadian traditions and customs by holding various  talks, activities and social events over the last two decades.

During the late 1980's  they  were involved in funding and maintaining the Greek Department  of Macquarie University. It is with  great pride the committee still supports the Greek Department today.

The past and present committees have supported  all the New South Wales Universities  where Greek is taught , by donating many hundreds of Greek books. The various books have been donated by the many Arcadian Book Publishers, like Dodoni, Kastanioti, Trohalia and many others. Also the various Associations like Ano Karioton "Lyceum Dias" and the private school of "PLATON"  in Greece (Arcadia) have contributed significantly by donating many educational and historical material.

Special mentions should go to the Society of Arcadic Letters and Arts, as they  were the main group to organise and send the many hundreds and thousands of books to Australia. While the Greek carrier Olympic Airways donated all freight charges.

Other great achievements have been the various large donations to the Pan-Arcadian Hospital "Evangelistria" in Tripolis, Arcadia. The Federation donated many thousands of dollars  raised from various activities and many equipment required by the Hospital.

The Hospital in Tripolis, Arcadia, was first established by the Pan-Arcadian Federation of America. Later, all Federations (America, Canada and Australia) and generally all Arcadians living Abroad contributed  a large amount of money and equipment to the hospital.

On January of 1991, the Federation of New South Wales  and the Federation of Victoria had a major role in forming the Federation of South Australia and the Pan-Arcadian Federation of Australia in Adelaide 1991.

The activities of the Arcadian Month started in Sydney in September of 1991. Once the activities concluded in Sydney the trip continued to the Arcadians of Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide.

In 1992 the Pan-Arcadian Federation of News South Wales acquired a wonderful building in Ashbury.
